The anchors are structural elements which are capable of transmitting stress to the ground by means of structures and anchoring devices.
These consist in a particular application of pre-stress in the field of civil engineering and their most common applications can be found in the anchoring of fac walls, panels and floors subject to hydrostatic thrust, quays, etc.
Designed to transmit the stress imparted homogeneously in the contrast element and to allow the correct housing for the clamping apparatus.
They are available in two versions:
- single head: for stressing with one jack only
- multiple head: for stressing with jacks which act on each strand.
It is the section between the beginning of the foundation part and the head of the anchor where the prestress structure can lengthen when under stresse.
Bonded or foundation part:
This part transmits the anchor traction forces to the ground.
The anchor can generally be divided into two categories depending on the type of use and duration:
- Provisional anchors
- Permanent anchors
